Wiggins police search for rape suspect | Crime

A man wanted on a rape charge in Wiggins is on the run and authorities said he could be hiding out in Stone or Harrison counties, according to the Wiggins Police Department.

Wiggins police said, 34-year-old Levanus Vanderbilt is accused of attacking a 15-year-old girl at a home on July 5. Vanderbilt was reportedly a visitor at the home on that day.

He's a native of Wiggins, according to police. Police haven't seen him around town since the day of the incident.

Officials said they believe he could be hiding out in Stone County or even Harrison County. If you have any information as to Vanderbilt's whereabouts call Wiggins Police at 601-928-5444.
