Nearly 2,000 students graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College during the 2012-2013 school year.  The annual commencement ceremony was held on May 9 at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.

Vardaman Street Christian Academy school registration is open. They are allowing K-4 through 10th grade registration.

Applications may be picked up at the school between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Jackson County Campus students initiated into Alpha Beta Gamma

Nine students from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Jackson County Campus were initiated into the campus Alpha Beta Gamma chapter for the spring semester.  The initiation ceremony was held on March 28 at the Jackson County Campus.
 
Initiates included Saowanee Alberts and Elizabeth Bienko, both of Moss Point; Fredia Blackmon and Crystal Shuette, both of Biloxi; William C. Brown and James Wright, both of Ocean Springs; Brittney Buker, Theodore, Ala.; Alisha Ford, Pascagoula; and Garrett Grace, Wiggins.

YouthBuild-AmeriCorps, a program of CLIMB Community Development Corporation, is partnering with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast and its IMPACT 2013 AmeriCorps members to create a Community Garden and Play House for youth.
